Objective: Studies on people with active rheumatoid arthritis have revealed contradictory thermographic patterns in their feet (RA). However, no research have examined the thermographic patterns of healthy controls and RA patients in remission to yet. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether RA patients who were in clinical and radiological remission had different thermal foot characteristics from healthy controls.
Conclusion: These results reveal that when compared to healthy controls, RA patients who are in clinical and radiological remission have significantly distinct foot thermographic patterns. Future research will use this data as the foundation to determine whether thermographic patterns alter in response to disease activity.
